DVD Special Features
Plot
Eternal youth is sought by many, yet eludes us all… at the start of this adventure Jack is recruited by the King of England, King George II, to find the Fountain of Youth before his Spanish counterparts. Jack sets to sea aboard the Black Pearl with the now one-legged Captain Hector Barbossa and the fun begins.
Jack is soon warned that he is not alone in his search for the elusive Fountain of Youth and is being impersonated by the beautiful yet ruthless Angelica, played by Penelope Cruz. Angelica is the daughter of Jack’s sworn enemy Blackbeard (played by Ian McShane) and she possesses supernatural powers that look set to thwart Jack’s mission.
Taken hostage aboard Blackbeard’s ship the Queen Anne’s Revenge, Jack is forced to guide the old pirate to the Fountain and the two silver chalices that must contain the water. Whoever drinks from the chalice containing a mermaids tear gains eternal youth, whilst the other person dies as years of life are sucked from his body.
Blackbeard is desperate to secure the Fountain as he fears a pre-destined deathly encounter with a one legged man. As he seeks to secure his prize he traps a mermaid whom attracts the attention of Philip Swift, a captive missionary. Jack is sent onboard the stricken vessel where it is believed the chalices lie but Barbossa is lying in wait for him; it seems the Spanish have reached the prize before Jack. Yet instead of being an enemy, Jack finds that Barbossa seeks to join forces with him in order to defeat Blackbeard in revenge for his previous actions which forced Barbossa to amputate his own leg. With Blackbeard defeated Jack and Barbossa head to Spain to retrieve the chalices.

Meanwhile, onboard the Queen Anne’s Revenge the mermaid returns Philip’s love and is tricked into shedding a tear by Blackbeard. She is then left to die. As Jack returns he agrees to exchange the chalices for the Fountain.
A mighty battle quickly ensues as Blackbeard is attacked, firstly by Barbossa and then by the Spanish who still want to secure the Fountain. Blackbeard is stabbed by Barbossa with a poisoned sword which also nicks Angelica as she removes it from her father.
As father and daughter lie dying the ruthless Blackbeard asks his daughter to sacrifice her life in order to save his; a request to which she willingly agrees. However, Captain Jack Sparrow secretly switches the cups and Angelica drinks the mermaids tear, sparing her life and ending the life of her father. Jack abandons Angelica on a deserted island as as the credits close we see Angelica alone on the island with a voodoo doll of Jack, which has washed up to shore…
